2021 Winter Hair Trends

There are so many fantastic hair trends that are perfect for the upcoming autumn and winter seasons.

Some of the following trends have been a trend all year round and are still going strong as we are coming into the colder season.

1. BANGS

Curtain bangs are a huge trend for the winter season. Curtain bangs are typically shorter in the middle and longer at the ends. Curtain bangs are so versatile as they can be suited to all hair types and they are so easy to wear as they are perfectly tailored to frame your face and eyes. Longer, sweeping bangs can help narrow a broad face or help create more of a diamond shape. Shorter bangs that pinch in at the temples can contour and create more defined cheekbones. Curtain bangs have become increasingly popular within the last few years due to their easy maintenance. If you decide you don’t like the look of curtain bangs don’t worry as they grow out so seamlessly and you can also pin them back behind your ears.

2. BIG FLUFFY 90’S HAIR

Big fluffy 90’s bouncy blowdry’s are back and is definitely influencing trends for the upcoming autumn-winter season. Taking inspiration from celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, Cher from the film Clueless, Jeniffer Aniston and Brooke shields who all rocked the original bouncy blowdry look in the ’90s. This hairstyle is classy and classic and isn’t afraid to look done, it is also quite easy to do it yourself at home. The secret to getting the perfect 90’s hair is Velcro rollers. Blowdry your hair into sections with a large round brush, Once all sections are dry make sure to set them with different-sized velcro rollers or even heated rollers. Let your hair cool down while you’re doing your makeup and voila.

3. BOB

The right Bob is always in style! They are a very low maintenance haircut to have as they are very quick and easy to style, it's a perfect choice. The Bob haircut comes in loads of different styles such as Long Bob, Blunt Long Bob, Asymmetrical Bob, Inverted Bob, A-line Bob etc. They also come in all kinds of shapes and sizes as some bobs are longer while others are shorter. Bobs can come straight or curly they fit virtually every face shape. As we move into the colder months take the plunge and swap your long lengths to a chic and stylish bob, say goodbye to your straggly dead ends and hello to beautiful healthy hair.

4. WARM HIGHLIGHTS

We lose the added warmth to our skin during the winter months that we get from the sun. Warm highlights are a way to add that warmth back into your complexion by having contrasting warm shades framing your face. Warm tones can reflect light and appear shiny.  A lot of people still want to stay blonde for the winter but want a richer warmer shade of blonde so adding the warm highlights is a perfect way to do that.

5. SHADOW ROOTS

Shadow roots are one of 2021 biggest hair trends so if you can’t afford to keep having your hair done don’t fear. “Shadow root” or “root smudge” is very chic and is the most low maintenance colour trend to see you through the autumn/winter season. Having this technique done at the salon helps to give your hair a seamless journey into regrowth, so the roots aren’t as visible and also avoids that harsh line. Shadow roots are purposely placed so you can create contouring and framing with your choice of colour, which can shape the hair and define facial features rather than outgrown roots. The best thing about this technique is that the shadow root trend works on every type of hair colour, type and texture.
