Tanning Supplies, Kits and Accessories
Sunless tanning consists of spray tanning and self-tanning. Spray tanning is a form of self-tanning (or sunless tanning) where a fine mist is sprayed onto your body by a beautician with a handheld airbrush. This mist has an ingredient in it called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that interacts with your own skin’s chemistry to turn it tan, or bronze. This temporary effect generally lasts from 3-7 days and is completely safe for your skin (although it doesn’t provide any protection against the sun’s rays). The results you can get from tanning sprays are generally very good. Many celebrities and models prefer spray tanning to just about anything else to get the colour they want. The benefits of a spray tan are that gives an even streak-free tan, The ability to stay tanned year-round, helping you to look thinner and healthier instantly, boosts self-confidence, Camouflaging small scars and bruises etc.
Self-tanning is a similar process to spray tanning but Self-tanning involves applying tanning products in the comfort of your own home. The range of self-tanning products includes sprays, lotions and mousse. Both sprays and lotions give a full-body, even tan. A lotion is a great option for tanners who want more control over the depth of their tan. With the lotion, you can easily apply less or more. It does take longer to apply the lotion as opposed to the spray. Tanning spray is ideal for people who want a quick, easy and even full-body tan. However, there will be over-spray, so we recommend applying in the bathroom, or shower, where surfaces can easily be washed down. It’s best to apply sprays and lotions with an applicator mitt. If you don’t have this readily available, be sure to wash your hands immediately after applying.
